Deepam 2.0 Status Check: How to Know If Your Free Cylinder Subsidy Was Credited

Deepam 2.0 Status Check: How to Know If Your Free Cylinder Subsidy Was Credited

A Deepam 2.0 Status Check is the quickest way to find out whether the subsidy for your free LPG cylinder has actually reached your bank account. Under Deepam 2.0, you pay the full price when you book a cylinder, and the subsidy comes back to your Aadhaar-linked bank account only after the delivery is recorded. Until you check, you cannot tell whether that refund is on its way, stuck, or missing altogether. The status page on the GSWS-NBM portal gives you that answer cylinder by cylinder, so a Deepam 2.0 Status Check is worth doing after every delivery.

Deepam 2.0 has run since 31 October 2024 and gives three free LPG cylinders a year to white rice card holders who hold a domestic LPG connection in a woman’s name. The three cylinders are spread across three four-month blocks – April to July, August to November, and December to March – with one free cylinder in each block, under G.O.Ms.No.12 dated 25.10.2024. The 2026-27 Budget set aside Rs.2,601 crore for the scheme. Because the refund depends on your LPG e-KYC, your Aadhaar-bank seeding and the delivery record all being right, the status check is the one place where a problem shows up first.

How to Do a Deepam 2.0 Status Check

Keep your Aadhaar number or your white rice card number ready before you start – the status page asks for one of the two, and the check takes only a couple of minutes.

  1. Open the GSWS-NBM portal and go to the Deepam status page.
  2. Enter your Aadhaar number or your rice card number in the field it asks for.
  3. Submit the details. The page shows your Deepam record for the current year.
  4. Read the record block by block: which block you are in, whether the free cylinder for that block has been used, and whether the subsidy for each delivered cylinder is credited or still pending.
  5. If the subsidy shows as credited, open your bank account – the refund goes to the account mapped to your Aadhaar, so check that account, not just any account you hold.

Do a Deepam 2.0 Status Check block by block, because a cylinder booked in one block never counts for another. A cylinder booked in the April-July block uses up that block’s free cylinder, even if it is delivered late, and cannot be carried into the August-November block. If you have already taken the free cylinder for the current block, a second booking in the same block is charged at full price and gets no subsidy, and the status page will show that plainly.

What a Deepam 2.0 Status Check Shows You

The status page is the only place that shows your whole Deepam record in one view. For each block it shows whether the free cylinder has been booked, whether the delivery has been recorded, and whether the subsidy has been credited to your bank account. It also shows the account the refund was sent to, usually in masked form, so you can tell if the money went to an old account instead of the one you use now.

Three results are normal. “Credited” means the refund has left the system and should be in your bank account – check the statement for the days after the delivery. “Pending” means the delivery is recorded but the refund has not gone out yet, and it usually clears within a few days. “Not found” or a blank record usually means a detail was entered wrong, or the delivery has not been recorded yet.

Why Your Subsidy May Not Show as Credited

When a Deepam 2.0 Status Check shows no subsidy, one of four things is usually behind it. The first is LPG e-KYC. Aadhaar e-KYC keeps the subsidy flowing, and if it is pending, the refund can stop even though the cylinder was delivered. The second is Aadhaar-bank seeding: the subsidy is credited to the bank account mapped to your Aadhaar in the NPCI mapper, so if that mapping points to an old account, the money goes there and not to the account you check.

The third reason is the block rule. Only one cylinder per block is free, so if you already took the free cylinder for the current block, a second booking in the same block is charged in full and no subsidy is due. The fourth is the connection or the card itself: the connection must be a domestic LPG connection in a woman’s name and linked to a white rice card. If the connection was changed, the card was cancelled, or the name on the connection does not match, the subsidy stops until the record is corrected.

How to Fix Each Problem

Run a Deepam 2.0 Status Check first, note exactly what it shows – credited, pending or not found – and then take the fix that matches. Each problem below has one place to fix it, and none of them needs a middleman.

  • e-KYC pending: visit your LPG distributor with your Aadhaar card for biometric e-KYC, or complete it on your gas company’s app or website. Our LPG e-KYC guide explains each route step by step.
  • Money went to the wrong account: go to your bank and ask it to seed your Aadhaar to the account you want the subsidy in. Our Aadhaar Bank Seeding guide explains the NPCI mapping and how to check it.
  • Status page shows nothing: check that you entered the correct Aadhaar or rice card number. If the record still does not appear, visit your Grama or Ward Sachivalayam with the rice card and ask the staff to check your Deepam record.
  • Delivery not recorded: if the cylinder was delivered but the status page does not show it, contact your LPG distributor with the booking number and the delivery date, and ask them to update the record. Our guide on LPG subsidy not received walks through the same steps.

Checking Your Bank Account and Aadhaar Seeding

The subsidy is refunded to the bank account mapped to your Aadhaar in the NPCI mapper – the National Payments Corporation of India’s mapping system that every DBT payment in the country uses. If your Aadhaar is seeded to an account you no longer use, every subsidy will keep going to that account. UIDAI’s Bank Seeding Status service shows whether your Aadhaar is seeded and to which bank. Check it on uidai.gov.in before you visit the bank, so you know exactly what needs changing.

Seeding is free and is done by the bank, and it takes a day or two to reflect in the system. After the bank updates the mapping, wait for the next delivery cycle rather than expecting an old refund to move by itself – a subsidy already credited to the old account stays in that account, and the bank can help you trace it. Take the rice card and Aadhaar card with you.

What to Do If the Subsidy Still Has Not Come

When a Deepam 2.0 Status Check shows the refund as credited but the money is not in your account, first check the bank statement for the week after the delivery, and check the account the status page names. A refund can sit in an old account for months before anyone notices. If the status page shows the subsidy as pending for more than a week after delivery, check the booking on mylpg.in to confirm the delivery was recorded, then ask your distributor to follow it up.

If the cylinder was delivered but the status page does not show it, contact your LPG distributor with the booking number. If the distributor cannot fix it, visit your Grama or Ward Sachivalayam with the rice card, the Aadhaar card and the delivery receipt. Our guide on LPG subsidy not received walks through the same steps in more detail. Never pay anyone who offers to “release” your subsidy – the check, the seeding and the correction are all free, and no officer or agent can speed up a refund for a fee.

FAQ

How long after delivery does the refund come?

The refund is credited after the delivery is recorded, usually within a few days. If it has not come after a week and the status page still shows it as pending, check your Aadhaar-bank seeding first, then ask your distributor whether the delivery was recorded.

Can I check the status without Aadhaar?

The status page asks for your Aadhaar number or your rice card number, so you can use the rice card number if you do not have the Aadhaar number with you. Keep either ready before you open the portal.

What if I booked two cylinders in one block?

Only the first cylinder in a block is free. The second is charged at full price, with no subsidy, and the status page will show it as a paid booking. Wait for the next block for the next free cylinder – the blocks are April-July, August-November and December-March.

Do I need LPG e-KYC for Deepam 2.0?

Yes. Aadhaar e-KYC keeps the subsidy flowing, and a pending e-KYC is one of the main reasons refunds stop. Complete it at your distributor with a biometric check, or on your gas company’s app or website with an Aadhaar OTP, and then check the status page again after a few days.

Why does the status page show nothing for my card?

It usually means the Aadhaar or rice card number was entered wrong, or the delivery has not been recorded yet. Re-enter the number carefully, and if the record still does not appear, visit your Grama or Ward Sachivalayam with the rice card.

A Deepam 2.0 Status Check after every delivery is the simplest habit that protects your subsidy. It shows which block you are in, whether the free cylinder for that block has been used, and whether the refund reached the right bank account. When something is wrong, the page tells you where the break is – e-KYC, seeding, the block rule or the delivery record – and each of those has a free fix at your distributor, your bank or your Sachivalayam. Check the status, fix what it flags, and keep the rice card and Aadhaar details in order.
